The Sounds of Water

This 52-minute documentary film explores the different roles water plays and the different ways water is perceived in communities throughout the world

During a yearlong trip around the world, meeting with local populations in big cities and remote villages, Perrine & Guillaume Broust embarked on a journey to learn more about people’s relationship with water, producing the documentary film, The Sounds of Water ("Les Chants de l'Eau").

How is water perceived and used? What are its benefits and risks? What legends are told about water? What is its history? All of these topics are covered through interviews with fishermen, farmers, free divers, ministers, researchers... This documentary expands the ways we think about and use water.

See you at KENDAL 🤩 I will be at the Kendal Mountain Festival on Thursday, November 18th at the Free Flight Night, to present 20 years of paragliding filmmaking. 🎥

We will talk about the evolution of the world of paragliding these last 20 years, but also how we made films and aerial shootings. And I will bring some pearls that were made, way before the internet even existed! Hope to see you there and have a beer together! 🍻

I will also be there the 19th, to present Swissway to Heaven, my latest #climbing film !

📸 Shooting in stHilaire with some new #pov on Insta360

Ohlala mais comment tu déchires Le Guyx !!🤩🤩😎😎👏👏👏

Wow 🤩 ! The boss !

Rencontre improbable...

🇺🇸 An unexpected encounter… with a snow leopard 🐾
Only a lucky few have had the fortunate opportunity to observe this endangered species in the wild. Traveling through their natural habitat in Ladakh (India) we were secretly on the lookout and hoping for at least one sighting of this all so elusive big cat.

And then all of a sudden (thanks to Armelle Courtois’s keen sense of sight) we were surprised to see a female with her two cubs only a hundred meters away. As with all big animals, I have been lucky enough to see several in person in the wild (lions, hippos, elephants, orangutans, whales, sharks…) and time always seems to come to a screeching halt. You can’t help but hold your breath, stay still, and marvel at the grace and majesty of the world’s few remaining great mammals… but for how much longer?

Can’t wait to show you more photos and video for the next project with #ridingtoexplore.

It’s the Swissway World Tour! 🍿 Our film, co-produced with @cedriclachat was selected to be shown at every international film festival this year. 🥳 While I’m at it, I’d like to kick off a discussion about the use of the “Laurels” on film festival posters. The Awards from festivals really add value to the films that win them, both in terms of sales and broadcasting reach. That written, I find it a bit odd that there is no real distinction between the "Official Selection" logo and the “Grand Prix” awards.

After a quick look at this poster, one might be led to think that we won several awards, whereas in reality, the film only figures among those “officially selected” (other than at the @fifad_diablerets where we won the award for "Best Narrative Film" 🙏).

So why isn’t there a specific logo for “Official Selection” and another for “Award-Winning films”? While you think hard about that particular question, and before you finally get to head back to a dark movie theater for the first time in ages, you can also see the film on VOD (link in my bio ↖). Climb hard and happy viewing! 😉

🇫🇷 Le Swissway World Tour!

We completed this incredibly creative project while on assignment for the paragliding brand AirDesign Gliders, taking the time to shoot the first segment at AD's headquarter offices in Austria, with the video production team from Peignée Vertical.

It was a pleasure to have free reign with the script and filmmaking. Hope you like the video, this brand is really worth it! Watch it in full screen, with a good sound system, turn on the closed-captions, grab a beer, and enjoy!

Like, share and spread the philosophy! 🧡
