Guillaume Broust is an award-winning filmmaker with more than 20 years of experience in outdoor films and documentaries in some of the most remote and vertical places in the world. With over 200 films featuring climbing, paragliding, mountaineering, and skiing, as well as a number of awards to his name, Guillaume has created his own style and cinematographic universe.
Guillaume was the official Petzl videographer from 2001 to 2018, and directed most movies that Petzl produced, including those for each edition of the brand’s legendary RocTrip. One of his latest projects, The Sounds of Water, is a 52-minute documentary about the different ways people around the world perceive water. He now produces films independently.

This 52-minute documentary film explores the different roles water plays and the different ways water is perceived in communities throughout the world
During a yearlong trip around the world, meeting with local populations in big cities and remote villages, Perrine & Guillaume Broust embarked on a journey to learn more about people’s relationship with water, producing the documentary film, The Sounds of Water ("Les Chants de l'Eau").
How is water perceived and used? What are its benefits and risks? What legends are told about water? What is its history? All of these topics are covered through interviews with fishermen, farmers, free divers, ministers, researchers... This documentary expands the ways we think about and use water.

De superbes paysages, des couleurs flamboyantes et des belles rencontres. 🙏 En parlant de rencontres, la prochaine c’est à Grenoble aux @rencontres_cine_montagne mercredi 5 novembre. On y sera avec @cedriclachat pour y présenter notre film. On espère vous croiser là-bas ! 🤙

🇫🇷 Invité par l’équipe FujiFilm durant le HighFive (avec le gratin de la photographie outdoor) pour tester la gamme #fujifilm_xserie ainsi qu’une petite centaine d’objectifs... 🤤
Une journée de partage, d’échanges, et de plaisir visuel. J’ai notamment pu utiliser le X-H2S sur le terrain avec les stars du Vélo Trial et du Wakeboard. Très agréablement surpris par la douceur et le piqué des objectifs, qui nous rendent mieux ce côté organique qu’on a tendance à perdre avec les hybrides 4K. À suivre donc… 👀

🇬🇧 Invited by the #fujifilmfrance crew during the HighFive, I got to play (sorry, work 😇) with their latest cameras and a full buffet of lenses!
The idea was simple: spend a full day in the field testing the #xh2s filming some of the top athletes in trial and wakeboarding.
A great day of sharing with the team, I was genuinely impressed by the smoothness of the lenses, which bring back that organic look we sometimes lose with modern 4K hybrids.
