Guillaume Broust is an award-winning filmmaker with more than 20 years of experience in outdoor films and documentaries in some of the most remote and vertical places in the world. With over 200 films featuring climbing, paragliding, mountaineering, and skiing, as well as a number of awards to his name, Guillaume has created his own style and cinematographic universe.
Guillaume was the official Petzl videographer from 2001 to 2018, and directed most movies that Petzl produced, including those for each edition of the brand’s legendary RocTrip. One of his latest projects, The Sounds of Water, is a 52-minute documentary about the different ways people around the world perceive water. He now produces films independently.

This 52-minute documentary film explores the different roles water plays and the different ways water is perceived in communities throughout the world
During a yearlong trip around the world, meeting with local populations in big cities and remote villages, Perrine & Guillaume Broust embarked on a journey to learn more about people’s relationship with water, producing the documentary film, The Sounds of Water ("Les Chants de l'Eau").
How is water perceived and used? What are its benefits and risks? What legends are told about water? What is its history? All of these topics are covered through interviews with fishermen, farmers, free divers, ministers, researchers... This documentary expands the ways we think about and use water.

Award at @dutch_mountain_film_festival 🏆
What a crazy week! Festival season is ON 🚀
📸 2 - We had the huge privilege of winning the Best Mountaineering Film Award at DMFF* last week with @cedriclachat ! 🙏
📸 3 - We also got to screen the film in front of 3,000 people at @rencontres_cine_montagne without a doubt the world’s biggest outdoor movie session.
📸 4, 5 - @eline_lemenestrel absolutely nailed it (as always 😎) during the screening of our film and the one for her film ZAHIR with @choongkatherine
📸 8 - And to top it all off, the artist @studioyeddi performed a wild art piece at DMFF, recreating the LED wall from our film’s intro. Just mind-blowing.... 😳

📸 2 - Nous avons eu l’immense privilège de remporter le prix du Meilleur Film d’Alpinisme au Dutch Mountain Film Festival la semaine dernière !
📸 3 - Nous avons aussi eu la chance de projeter le film devant 3000 personnes lors des RCM, sans aucun doute la plus grande séance de cinéma outdoor au monde, Grenoble !!! 🔥🔥
📸 4, 5 - Eline 🌟 a (encore une fois) tout déchiré pour la projection de notre film, ainsi que celle de son film ZAHIR avec Katie Choong.
📸 8 - Et pour couronner le tout, le Studio Yeddi a fait une performance incroyable en recréant le mur de LED de l’intro de notre film... Hallucinant 🤯

Bascule Pyrénéenne 🍂
L’automne c’est la saison des festivals. On a profité des projections de notre film «l’Escalade du Futur» au @festivalimagemontagne ainsi qu’au @offb2b pour aller explorer les vallées et col des Pyrénées. De superbes paysages, des couleurs flamboyantes et des belles rencontres. 🙏 En parlant de rencontres, la prochaine c’est à Grenoble aux @rencontres_cine_montagne mercredi 5 novembre. On y sera avec @cedriclachat pour y présenter notre film. On espère vous croiser là-bas ! 🤙
