In the past few years, climbing has changed at an unprecedented rate and we find ourselves at a historic turning point. With the rapid growth of climbing gyms, the number of people pulling down on plastic has exploded. And now as an official Olympic sport, climbing’s longtime counterculture is currently experiencing a twenty-first century transformation…

Over the course of a year, I traveled with my climbing partner Cédric Lachat to some of the world’s most iconic cliffs and climbing gyms to explore the key issues facing our sport.

The result: THE FUTURE OF CLIMBING – a climbing documentary bringing together the world’s top athletes, local organizations, clubs, associations, and federations. What challenges will future generations face to keep the spirit of climbing alive?

What legacy will we leave for future generations of climbers?
Will more restrictions be placed on outdoor climbing areas?
What future awaits the sport-climbing community?
